1. Agreement to These Terms
By creating an account or using Passage at earnpassage.com, you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Devfeed, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the company that operates Passage.
2. What Passage Is
Passage is an AI-powered essay evaluation service. When you submit a college application essay, Passage runs it through multiple independent AI readers, each approaching your draft from a distinct perspective, and synthesizes their feedback into structured, actionable notes.
Passage is a feedback tool, not an admissions consulting service, and its output does not guarantee college admission outcomes.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Passage. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian permission to use the service.
By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet the eligibility requirements.
4. Your Account
You need an account to use Passage. We support two sign-in methods:
- Magic link: we email you a one-time sign-in link. No password is stored.
- Google sign-in: you authenticate via your Google account. We receive only your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Contact us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Our Services and Plans
Passage offers three tiers:

"College application season" means one Common App cycle (generally August through January of a given year). We will define the exact dates for each season on the pricing page.
6. Payments and Refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Passage does not store your card details, only whether your payment was successful and your plan status.
Refund policy:
- Per-essay purchases ($9): A purchased evaluation is non-refundable once the evaluation has successfully completed. If a technical error prevents completion (for example, an AI provider outage), you may request a credit or refund by contacting us at [email protected] within 14 days.
- Pro plan ($39/season): Refunds for the season pass are available within 7 days of purchase if you have not yet run any evaluations. After that window, or after running an evaluation, the purchase is non-refundable.
We reserve the right to modify pricing for future seasons. Current subscribers are not subject to mid-season price changes.
7. Your Content and Intellectual Property
You own your essays. Submitting an essay to Passage does not transfer ownership or any intellectual property rights to us.
By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your essay text for the sole purpose of providing the evaluation service you requested. We do not claim ownership of your work, and we do not use your essays to train AI models.
We own Passage. The application, evaluation methodology, interface, and all associated intellectual property belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer any part of the service.
8. AI Processing
Passage uses third-party AI APIs, including Anthropic and OpenRouter, to generate essay evaluations. When you submit an essay, your essay text and the context inputs you provided (school, major, prompt, etc.) are transmitted to these AI providers to generate the evaluation.
The AI providers that process your data are subject to their own privacy policies and terms of service. We select providers that do not use submitted content for model training under their standard API terms, but we cannot guarantee this on their behalf.
Evaluation results are generated by AI and may contain errors, biases, or inconsistencies. Treat results as one form of feedback among many, not as a definitive assessment.
9. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Submit content that violates another person copyright, privacy, or other rights.
- Use the service to generate or distribute academic dishonesty content (for example, submitting someone else essay as your own for a class assignment).
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or payment gates.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy Passage evaluation methodology, prompts, or output.
- Use automated tools to submit essays or interact with the service at scale.
- Impersonate another person or provide false information when creating an account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Passage is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that evaluation results will be accurate, complete, or useful for any particular purpose.
We are not licensed college counselors or admissions consultants. Nothing in Passage output constitutes professional admissions advice.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Passage is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $25 USD.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of admissions opportunity or any academic outcome.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. When you delete your account, your essays and evaluation results are deleted from our servers.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. We will give you reasonable advance notice of any service discontinuation unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will email you at the address on file and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Georgia.
